Bonne Annee!

1 Jan

Happy new year everyone!!!
How fast time flies. I can’t believe it’s already 2012. The Christmas rush was indeed a rush. One day we see people put up christmas lights on the street, then christmas shopping sprees then christmas dinner and the next thing you know, you already need to change your planner.
This year was a bit weird too. The temperatures in France were record breaking high. They said November this year was the warmest November since 1900 or something. So December was a bit mild too. And it just doesn’t feel like christmas when you go christmas shop wearing just a shirt. Plus we celebrated christmas with G’s family a week in advance because the train tickets for the 25th were crazy expensive.
In short, I would say that I didn’t really feel the spirit this year.
And that’s why it’s a bit of a surprise that the holiday is over. Where did it go?

I have no idea where this post is going. Might be the effects of last night’s party. But all I actually just want to say is that I wish everyone a very happy new year and hope that 2012 will bring you more happiness, blessings and all good things and wishes in the world.

Until the next nonsense post.
Gros bisous!!!

Stop thinking about the islands

31 Jan

5 more weeks before we pack up our bags and head on out to the islands. I don’t think I have the energy nor the motivation to work while waiting for the big day.

It seems that all we ever talk about the past few days is what we’ll be doing while on vacation. It’s stressing me out – in a good way, I guess.

But there’s still a lot of work to do until March: Interviewing new applicants, getting paperwork done for our office move, organizing the movers, transferring phone lines. It just keeps on piling up. I guess it’s the world’s way of telling me that a 5-week holiday needs to be earned.

So earn it I shall. Time to get the working chakra going.

I hope you have a productive, stress free work week folks!
