Was that it?

26 Aug

For a few days, the sun decided to show itself, teasing us as if to say that summer is not over yet. We just had time to get a few drinks along the Seine during the last days of Paris Plage, leisurely walk 2 metro stations to catch a late screening of The Killer Inside Me, and go to the Saint Denis market and eat mais chaud (steamed corn, like the ones sold in karitons in Manila when it’s traffic…except here they were selling them in shopping caddies).

Now it’s all sad and gloomy again like summer never happened. One of my brokers from London said that summer over there is finished too and it’s cold and rainy now. Well that sucks because we’re actually hopping on the Eurostar on Saturday hoping to spend 4 days of Nottinghill carnival frenzy in the sun.

But then again, what was I expecting? It’s London. Instead of bringing flip flops,  I think I’d better bring an umbrella.

Goodbye summer, hello fall.
